KOLKATA, 30th JUNE: Dr. Pradip Ghosh, an American NRI, an educator, philanthropist and founder of Pradip and Kumkum Ghosh Family Foundation in USA and India and the Chairman of International Institute of Innovation and Technology (I3T), a premiere research institute working towards implementing innovative solutions for public health in partnership with Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health of USA has donated a total of 180 oxygen concentrators to Department of Health, Government of West Bengal, ESI Hospital at Manicktala, Bharat Sevashram Sangha and other social welfare organisations, safe homes in the constituency of Newtown Rajarhat and Gopalpur Rajarhat, Kamarhati and Barrackpore and to several housing societies in and around Salt Lake, Newtown and Rajarhat in order to keep them ready in case the third wave of the pandemic hits the State again.

Dr. Pradip Ghosh on Tuesday handed over 50 oxygen concentrators to the safe homes maintained by Shri. Sujit Bose, Minister of State, Fire and Emergency Services, Shri Tapas Chatterjee, MLA, Newtown Rajarhat constituency, Smt. Aditi Munshi, MLA, Gopalpur Rajarhat constituency and also to 10 housing societies and few of the youth clubs from Howrah, Salt Lake and Newtown area in a simple event at the premises of International Institute of Innovation And Technology, where he attended on a virtual platform from Maryland, USA.

The foundation earlier donated 130 oxygen concentrators which include the Health Department, GoWB, few social welfare organization, safe homes and medical establishments.

With the scarcity of oxygen supply that took several lives during the Covid -19 second wave, Dr. Pradip K. Ghosh extended his support by sending 350 nos of oxygen concentrators worth rupees 20 million for the people of West Bengal and expressed his strong urge to stand by his roots during this crisis. 

“This is just a miniscule support to my people in West Bengal. I would continue to support for the cause of public health”, Said Dr. Pradip Ghosh, while attending the presentation event on Tuesday from Maryland, USA.

Dr. Ghosh envisions a developed public health scenario in West Bengal through the different branches of his organization- International Institute of Innovation and Technology (I3T), I3T Advanced Diagnostic Center, Mental Health Center and Center for Economic Policy in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, International University of Public Health and Technology.

His dream is to keep public health in the forefront in reaching out to the masses through widespread education, greater research and outreach.
