Job Description: As a Food and Synthesis Lab Researcher at I3T, Kolkata, you will play a pivotal role in our research endeavors focused on developing new food products, improving existing formulations, and exploring innovative food synthesis techniques. The ideal candidate should have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in food science and research, with a strong passion for creating novel food products.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Development:

  • Conduct research in the field of food technology and synthesis to develop new food products and improve existing ones.
  • Investigate innovative food synthesis techniques and technologies to enhance product quality and production efficiency.

Product Formulation:

  • Formulate recipes and ingredient combinations for new food products.
  • Experiment with various ingredients to optimize taste, texture, nutritional content, and shelf life.

Lab Coordination:

  • Manage and maintain the food and synthesis lab, ensuring it is well-equipped and organized for research activities.
  • Coordinate with other researchers and lab staff to ensure smooth workflow.

Experimentation and Analysis:

  • Plan and execute experiments, collect and analyze data, and interpret results.
  • Troubleshoot issues and make necessary adjustments to achieve desired outcomes.

Quality Control:

  • Establish and implement quality control measures to ensure food safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations and taste testing of food products.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of research methods, procedures, and results.
  • Prepare regular reports and share findings with the research team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in food science, food technology, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in food research and development, with a focus on new product development.
  • Strong knowledge of food chemistry, ingredient functionality, and synthesis techniques.
  • Proficiency in laboratory equipment and procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
