Having partnership alliance with Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, I3TK aims to identify the causes of various non-communicable as well as transmissible & infectious diseases and find vaccines/remedial answers to address these severe /epidemic public health concerns.

I3TK firmly believes that with their team of public health researchers, educators, practitioners and collaborative alliance with Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health- interchange of ideas, learning process and implementable delivery of solutions will aid in the vision and mission of the institute to reach out to the community and address their health related concerns.

History:

Dr. Pradip K. Ghosh- a professor, entrepreneur, a philanthropist is originally from Khardah, West Bengal who has been involved in charitable work in West Bengal and USA, through his family Foundation (Pradip and Kumkum Ghosh Family Foundation) since 1986. Dr. Ghosh made it his mission to create forums where people can come together to help various social causes. The Ghosh family has been involved in numerous philanthropic activities for the past 35 years. His family has contributed more than forty crores of rupees for the operation of charitable hospital, maintaining more than 2500 orphan children, destitute and handicapped women, funding libraries, schools and athletic facilities and many community development projects in West Bengal.

In 2016, Dr. Ghosh collaborated with and formed a group of scientists from National Institute of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI) and Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health in Maryland, to explore the opportunities for improvement of the current public healthcare scenario in India. With a goal is to mobilize more than 100 scientists to find the cure for Malaria, Dengue, Hepatitis, infectious and other diseases- in short to improve the quality of life of people of West Bengal, Dr. Ghosh started International Institute of Innovation and Technology in Kolkata, India, a 156,000 square feet State-of-the-Art building dedicated to conduct research and education in public health-related subjects. Prof. Nirmal Ganguly, Former Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Prof. Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay, Former Vice Chancellor of Amity University were highly instrumental in guiding Dr. Ghosh to organize the most needed programs, absolutely essential to open new frontiers of research, in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.

On January 1, 2018, the building was inaugurated by the Minister in charge of Information Technology and Electronics Honorable Bratya Basu, in the presence of distinguished scientists, academicians and industrialists.

On January 6, 2020, Johns Hopkins University with best academic and research program in Medicine and Public Health has joined the I3TK as collaborating partner to provide State-of-the-Art educational and research support. This partnership also led to the establishment of Johns Hopkins University India Maternal and Child Health Center, International Vaccine Center India and Vaccine Research Center. This is how I3TK started its initial steps and dreams to be that unique platform where innovations and inventions runs in parallel to translate bench-to-bedside ideas of Bio-medical sciences, in order to treat several public health diseases.
